Sustainable structural change – organic products from innovative aquaculture as a new economic force for Lusatia
As an innovation network, the Aquatech Lusatia Alliance has set itself the goal of actively shaping structural change in Lusatia in Saxony and Brandenburg.
We connect stakeholders from business, science and civil society with the goal of optimal knowledge and technology transfer. We support innovative ideas in order to transfer them into industrial implementation.
The focus of the AquaTech Lausitz alliance is on the further development and implementation of sustainable, bio-based circular economy taking into account the resource „water“ in Lausitz and the use of aquatic biomasses, e.g. algae, shrimps, sponges or fish. These systems are suppliers of valuable products for the food and feed industry, the cosmetics and pharmaceutical industry as well as basic building blocks for biomaterials.
We see great potential in this new branch of industry for Lusatia.
The AquaTech Lausitz Alliance is an innovation network funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and is part of the pilot program „WIR! – Change through Innovation in the Region“.
